NY Knicks – #9 – Half Court Ally-Oop: May 5th, 2021 vs Denver Nuggets

This was not a pretty game for the Knicks, who fell to the Nuggets in Denver 113-97. However, the game wasn’t good for nothing, as Toppin did find himself on the receiving end of a pretty all-oop.

RJ Barrett put the play into motion by playing good defense on his former teammate Austin Rivers’ layup attempt. Barrett forced the miss and secured the rebound. From there, Barrett pushed up the floor to find Obi Toppin, who he tossed an alley-oop pass to from the center court logo. Toppin snuck his way past Denver’s JaVale McGee and threw the ball down.

At this point in the game, the Knicks were already down 24 points about halfway through the second quarter. It got worse from there, but this lob served as a silver lining. Any dunk from Toppin is fun to watch, but it was made even better coming on such a great pass from Barrett. Hopefully, we see many more dunks where these young Knicks makes such a connection.
