New York Knicks: Immanuel Quickley can improve his shot selection

While it is extremely impressive that Quickley has excellent shot creation skills at such a young age, sometimes he needs to dial it down a bit. He had games this season where he shot 1-7, 1-8, 1-9, 1-10, 1-11, and 1-12 from the field.

He also led the team in shot attempts with a defender 0-2 feet away from him, however, he connected on just 20% of those looks.

This isn’t to say that he needs to stop shooting, but he should be more aware of when he might be having an off game and look to defer to teammates or act as a decoy rather than continuing to fire away when it’s just not his night.

His basketball IQ will develop as he spends more time in the big leagues, and this is more of an issue that can be fixed in the film room rather than the gym.

Immanuel Quickley established himself as an important piece for the future of the New York Knicks. He still has some ways to go before he fully realizes his potential but that’s the case for all rookies, fans should still be excited as ever to see what he can accomplish as he enters his sophomore season with a full year of NBA experiences under his belt.
