Should the NY Knicks bring Lou Williams back to play with Julius Randle?

Ok, so this one is definitely a little out there but just hear me out.

Obviously acquiring Lou Williams would be a bit of a long shot for a multitude of reasons, but anything is possible.

‘Lemon Pepper Lou’ considered retirement just a few short months ago and now he essentially saved Atlanta’s season in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals when the team’s star player, Trae Young, was forced to sit out with an injury.

Williams is and always will be a DAWG and would be a welcomed addition to the Knicks if there was a way for him to get here.

Immanuel Quickley could learn so much under Williams’s wing and has mentioned on several occasions how one of the players he’s always admired and modeled parts of his game after was Lou Williams.

Now, as I mentioned earlier, a lot of things would have to happen for a Lou Williams acquisition to make even a stitch of sense.

The Knicks would have to either choose to start Derrick Rose or let him walk elsewhere and bring in a starting point guard because we all know young IQ isn’t ready for a starting role as of yet.

This would be a step in the right direction for Quickley because he would then assume the bench ballhandling role because Williams isn’t exactly known as the best facilitator and I believe IQ could one day be the Knicks’ starting point guard, so this change would help to groom him.

Williams would be the off-ball guard more so than not and would be a great scoring threat off the Knicks’ bench.

Williams had some of the best years of his career playing next to Julius Randle from 2016 until halfway through the ’17-18 season so maybe the Knicks can catch some lightning in a bottle.

Next. Three players the Knicks can target with the 21st pick. dark
