While everyone is talking about Ben Simmons being on his way out of Philadelphia and onto the NY Knicks…I think the most likely superstar to come to the Mecca is none other than Joel Embiid.

I’m not saying this is happening this offseason whatsoever. It could, but I don’t think it’ll happen all that quickly.

The Sixers have yet again been bounced from the playoffs when for the past few years, they’ve had title aspirations.

The “Process” may have to be blown up soon.

That being said, as long as Leon Rose is still running the show in New York, Joel Embiid should be on his radar.

As some may know, both Devin Booker and Joel Embiid employed the current Knicks President of Basketball Operations, Leon Rose as their agent once upon a time. Both applauded the hiring of Rose.

Should the NY Knicks go after Joel Embiid at some point in the future?

When Embiid was asked about what he thought about Rose, he said:

"“Leon is my guy,” Embiid said. “He’s like family to me. When I heard the news I was happy for him. He’s cool. Being an agent for such a long time and getting a GM or a president job I think is amazing. I’m so happy for him. I’m sure he’ll do a good job over there. I think he’s a great human being. He’s going to do a great job.”“Leon did a great job but it’s always been about a collective effort,” Embiid said. “It was always Leon but it was always other guys, too. There’s a lot of support there [at CAA]. So I’m happy what they’ve been able to provide for me.”"

It was thought that Embiid would stick it out with CAA, and he did for about a year after Leon Rose’s exit, but now he’s looking for a new agency.

This just goes to show how close Embiid truly was to Rose because, in just a little over a year’s time, he left an agency he had been with for many years prior.

From a logistics standpoint, Embiid’s fit next to current Knicks All-Star Julius Randle would be weird.

But perhaps in the not-too-distant future, either Randle is no longer in New York or he’s used as a part of a trade for Embiid.

Who knows?

All I’m saying is that we should keep an eye out on the relationship between the megastar center and the Knicks’ Executive Extraordinaire, Leon Rose.

Next. Three players the Knicks can draft with the 21st pick. dark
