It was an important day yesterday for the NY Knicks and the rest of the league, as the majority of 2021 NBA Draft prospects participated in a combine where their measurements were taken.

The measurements include hand size, standing reach, wingspan, weight, and height with and without shoes. It’s only a small part of the draft process, but it certainly helps to know where some of the top prospects measure in as they are coming into the league.

NY Knicks: Final notes before the NBA Draft

At this point, big boards are already set. Measurements can maybe, MAYBE, move the needle slightly for some prospects, but outside of draft interviews and up-close personal workouts, these players have been thoroughly scouted.

You can see the full list of measurements here.

There are some players in particular who have been high on fans and analysts’ draft lists that have some notable information about their size, either as a flaw or an asset.

Below is a list of some of the popular Knicks targets’ and their measurements.

  • James Bouknight – 6’4.75 with shoes, 6’8.25 wingspan
  • Moes Moody – 6’6 with shoes, 7’0.75 wingspan
  • Davion Mitchell – 6’1.25 with shoes, 6’4.25 wingspan
  • Sharife Cooper – 6’4.75 with shoes,
  • Jared Butler – 6’3.75 with shoes, 6’4 wingspan
  • Jared Springer – 6’4.25 with shoes, 6’7.75 wingspan
  • Tre Mann – 6’4.25 with shoes, 6’4 wingspan

The most surprising is Sharife Cooper. Cooper is already a very popular prospect and there is already some doubt about the accuracy of these measurements. But hey, perhaps he had a growth spurt? If so, he’s a big “winner” from this combine and will be a big target for New York.

Moses Moody’s monster almost 7’1 wingspan also jumps off the page. A wingspan like that really helps his projected scoring potential in the NBA.

Davion Mitchell’s height, you would hope would’ve been between 6’2-6’3.

There are already plenty of rumors about the Knicks potentially trading up in the draft. If they do, Davion Mitchell, Josh Giddey, James Bouknight, and Moses Moody are probably in play for someone who can help add a spark to the team’s offense.

Still, there are plenty of options that will be available at 19 and 21. The NBA Draft is set for July 29th, just over a month away. Buckle up.
