So it’s official…it’s now impossible for the state of New York to win an NBA title this year because both the NY Knicks and Brooklyn Nets have been bounced from the playoffs.

While making it to the playoffs came as a pleasant surprise for Knicks fans, the Nets were a massive title favorite after signing both Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in 2019 and then trading for James Harden earlier this season.

But the Nets were eliminated by the Bucks on Saturday to the tune of 115-111 in an overtime win.

That game had no shortage of excitement as the Nets were maybe an inch away from making it to the Eastern Conference finals because Kevin Durant’s toes were on the 3-point line when he made what could have been the game-winning shot.

Should the NY Knicks grab either of these two players if possible?

So now, both the Knicks and the Nets have some figuring out to do this offseason, as do most teams.

The Knicks have plenty of flexibility moving forward while the Nets are going to have a hard time getting much better during this summer.

The Knicks will have more than $50 million to play around with and plenty of draft picks while the Nets are essentially ‘capped out’ (pun intended).

The Nets are carrying the same $160 million cap hit they have now into next season, and that’s before they could re-sign key role players like Jeff Green, Blake Griffin, and Tyler Johnson.

Brooklyn seems to be in a bit of a pickle and the Knicks could have their potential remedy.

Here are 2 players that the Knicks could potentially steal from the Nets.
