NY Knicks: James Bouknight is one of the best scorers in the NBA Draft

It’s always great to have a New York native come home.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Bouknight played his early high school ball at La Salle Academy in Manhattan before transferring to prep school.

After 2 seasons at the University of Connecticut, Bouknight is ready to make the jump to the NBA, and the NY Knicks could be a terrific fit.

As I mentioned before, no one knows what’s going to happen on draft night, we all just have to play Game of Thrones and listen to the whispers and gossip around the NBA realm.

Well, some of those whispers seem to be saying that Bouknight is a favorite of a lot of teams and that his draft stock has been slowly rising. It’s easy to see why.

Bouknight checks a lot of boxes for what you want in an NBA scorer. Explosive athlete, smooth and crafty ball-handling, and a difficult shot-maker. Bouknight has both the blow-by ability and the balance to keep defenders constantly reaching at thin air.

His frame is a little slender but he has good height at 6’5 and I would not be surprised to see him quickly fill out in the NBA.

The NY Knicks could really use his shot-making ability. New York needs more dynamic play from their guards. It’s easy to be confident in Bouknight being able to translate his game to the next level – his scoring with the ball in his hands is far more advanced than most prospects.

Bouknight is a pretty natural fit at the 2 guard spot, and Thibodeau could slide RJ Barrett over to the 3 and create a really nice young pair that could dominate for years to come.
