Fresh off of winning the NBA Coach of the Year Award for the second time in Tom Thibodeau’s career, where does the New York Knicks coach rank in the NBA?
There’s no denying that Tom Thibodeau was an applaudable hire by the New York Knicks. He improved New York’s wins by 20 more than last year and in just six more games. There’s also been a noticeable culture change, with many players who have already been in a Knicks jersey before his hiring seemingly playing more confident.
Now that it looks like ‘Thibs’ is here to stay and revamping his career with the New York Knicks, it’s interesting to see what coaching tier he belongs in. I went through every current coach in the NBA and came up with six tiers to slot them into:
- Tier A: Coaching Hall of Famers
- Tier B: Player led NBA Champions
- Tier C: Top Notch Guys
- Tier D: Good, but not Great
- Tier E: In Hot Water
- Tier F: Too Early to Tell
Of course, some of the placements will probably draw some debate, but that’s the purpose of sports lists and rankings. Not all minds think the same, so make sure to leave your comments below and thoughts on Twitter, especially about where New York Knicks head coach Tom Thibodeau should be placed!
