NY Knicks: Reacting to 3 proposed trades with Minnesota Timberwolves

Would you consider this deal for Ricky Rubio to the NY Knicks?

So basically y’all want us to absorb your mistake?

Nah fam.

Ricky Rubio is coming into the last year of his contract in which he’s making $18 million before becoming an unrestricted free agent.

It wouldn’t hurt the Knicks to take on a one year deal, but why?

They need an upgrade at point guard and in all fairness, I don’t see Rubio as THAT much of an upgrade over Elfrid Payton…and that’s saying a lot.

Rubio’s numbers were down across the board this past season and a lot of that had to do with how bad Minnesota was.

But also, he’s just really not all that good to begin with.

The Knicks need a needle mover and Ricky Rubio ain’t it. Getting a 2023 2nd round pick in the swap isn’t worth locking up the point guard spot with an “okay” at best point guard that can’t shoot.

Also, I want Reggie Bullock to retire a Knick, as does most of the fanbase.

I could see him being moved to the 2nd unit instead of being the starter, but I doubt Reggie goes anywhere.

He’s a Knick for life or at the very least next season for sure.
