After such a Cinderella story type of season that was 2020-21, the NY Knicks come into the offseason with plenty of hope and promise for what could be coming in their near future.
In possession of the second-most spending power in the entire association this summer, with up to $53 million in disposable cap space, the Knickerbockers could be huge players on the free agency market.
However, perhaps the more entertaining route that some NY Knicks fans would love to see is the franchise pursuing some of the bigger names around the league rumored to be disgruntled with their current situations and, in turn, try and acquire them by means of trade.
Now, while I, myself, have grown weary over the years of New York looking for the “splashy” transaction in an effort to try and bypass a slow and steady build, there are without a doubt several noteworthy names that some believe could wind up becoming available this summer and, should they hit the trade block, could be huge additions to this roster.
Perhaps the biggest name intertwined in this offseason hoopla is Luka Doncic who, according to recent reports, has grown unhappy with Dallas’ front office, which has them now fearing that he may not wish to stay long-term with the franchise:

Look, by no means are we fully buying into the idea that Luka Doncic will be requesting a trade out of Texas any time soon.
