NY Knicks: What was the team’s record in each 2021 jersey?
NY Knicks: The Icon Jersey
The NY Knicks blue jersey is a staple that has remained virtually unchanged since it was first worn.
The iconic blue jersey was worn in game 5 of the 1973 NBA Finals when the Knicks beat the Lakers to win a championship.
The team first used blue as their main uniform color in 1983, after moving away from the maroon and dark blue jerseys of the early 80s.
In 2002, after some uniform changes throughout the 90s, the Knicks reverted to using blue as their primary jersey color.
However, somewhat surprisingly, the Knicks only wore their Icon jerseys 12 times this season, and it came with mixed results.
In the 12 games played, the Knicks won six and lost six.
It was first donned in the first game of the season which was a 14-point loss to the Pacers.
The Knicks would then beat the Pacers in the Icon jersey on Jan. 2.
RJ Barrett had the highest-scoring game of his career in the Icon jersey when he dropped 32 against the Thunder in March.
Unfortunately, not much else notable would happen in the short run given to the Icon uniforms. ‘
It was the Knicks’ least worn uniform along with their other blue option, the Statement jersey, but more on that one later.
