NY Knicks: Alec Burks could fill a need for the Miami Heat

The Miami Heat will also have some big decisions to make in their upcoming free agency. Victor Oladipo, Duncan Robinson, and Kendrick Nunn all have uncertain futures.

The Miami Heat play a very similar brand of slow, grind-it-out basketball as the NY Knicks, and their front office might be looking at the success Alec Burks had this past season as something that could translate well to their team.

The Heat have some wing ball-handlers between Tyler Herro, Jimmy Butler, and Andre Iguodala, and adding Burks to the mix could make them that much more dynamic.

Burks had a lot of success creating his own shot. Not just as a three-point shooter, but he proved to be a crafty mid-range scorer, something that Miami loves to do.

It’s difficult to say how much money Miami would shell out for Burks, but they would likely have to let 2 of the 3 (Nunn, Robinson, Oladipo) walk in free agency.

Miami doesn’t have a lot of draft capital, so they’re going to want to make minor moves in free agency to re-tool and re-position themselves as a contender in the Eastern Conference again.

Miami has always been an attractive free agent destination. Alec Burks could help them recapture some of their 2020 magic.
