As the NY Knicks head into the offseason they will be taking stock of their current roster and certain players’ value going forward, including the young guns like Immanuel Quickley.

Quickley might have the least amount of pressure of any player on the team. A fan-favorite rookie who exceeded expectations… there really isn’t any bad narrative or negative energy around Immanuel Quickley.

The only question is: What comes next?

NY Knicks: Could Immanuel Quickley take on a larger role?

I’m sure the immediate reaction for fans would be: duh.

There’s already been some frustration from this past season about Immanuel Quickley’s sporadic playing time. The natural progression for most players like Quickley would be to simply play more minutes and focus on his development in year 2, but it’s not that simple.

The rumors for the NY Knicks’ potential offseason targets have been, of course, bottomless. Even if there’s hyperbole with some of the big names that have floated, it’s very reasonable to expect the NY Knicks, the team with the most cap space in the league, to try and improve their roster and build off of the success in 2020-21.

There’s no clear blueprint for what’s in store for New York’s roster. So the question to examine here is: Is there a way to bolster the roster while giving Quickley an expanded role?

Let’s look at what the Knicks may do.
