The most valuable player on the NY Knicks today is Julius Randle

Oh Captain, My Captain.

Julius Randle is just a special player and a special human.

He’s always been a talented role player but when he was asked to be ‘the guy’ in New York last year, it’s safe to say he crumbled when his opportunity came.

The season ended short due to the Covid-19 pandemic and Randle took the extended time off to shut up all the doubters and naysayers.

The media ripped Julius as did the fans, and all he did was take that and use it as motivation.

He came into the season on a mission and became the Knicks’ go-to guy and team’s leader.

This earned him the Most Improved Player award as well as his first appearance in an All-Star game.

Even though he fell flat on his face when the lights were the brightest during this most recent playoff series against Atlanta, his efforts throughout the regular season proved that the front office should continue to build around him moving forward.

It’s obvious he isn’t a Batman but he could be a very solid Robin.

I hope that when the Knicks win a title in the near future, Randle is one of the guys leading the charge.
