The 2nd most valuable player on the NY Knicks is RJ Barrett

RJ Barrett AKA The Maple Mamba AKA The Future of the Knicks organization.

You could make an argument for him to be #1 on this list and not even think twice about it.

He made strides this year that proved he’s a star in the making.

He came into the league as a ‘non-shooter’ and that was the biggest knock on RJ coming out of high school and into college.

‘A shooting guard who can’t shoot’ was something that was said about RJ by many scouts.

Even after missing 19 of the first 21 3-point shots he took to begin the season, he finished at an elite 40% from long range.

His finishing at the rim improved…

His mid-range game improved…

His playmaking ability improved…

This kid is going to be the face of the Knicks sooner than we all think.

He’s one of the strongest guards in the league at just 20 years old with an insane work ethic and desire to be better.

I have no doubt RJ is going to bust his butt all offseason and come into the 2021-22 season looking like a much improved version of himself.

He’s going to be a 25+ point per game scorer within the next few years.

He’s far improved on defense, rebounding and facilitating and will only get better over time. I like to compare him to Jimmy Butler with a 3-point shot.
