NBA Draft Mock 2.0: Philadelphia 76ers draft ball-handling big Roko Prkačin
The Philadelphia 76ers are getting possibly one of the biggest steals in the draft in Roko Prkačin.
A 6’8, 18-year-old Croatian who brings a really eye-popping combination of playmaking and burst, the high-end ceiling of Prkačin is fascinating.
The 76ers have depth and perimeter players, and adding the project of Prkačin gives them a project they can patiently develop.
NBA Draft – Roko Prkačin NBA player comparisons
- Hedu Turkoglu with more burst and speed, and vertical
- Aleksej Pokuševski
- Kostas Papanikolaou
The comparisons to last year’s European mystery box Aleksej Pokuševski are going to be there. Prkačin is yet another long, lanky big who looks like he can be a point guard.
Prkačin is a really good ball-handler – nice crossovers and changes of directions, he can beat his man off the dribble not just with his craftiness but with his first step too. He’s a really quick athlete who will get up in the air and can throw it down.
For Roko Prkačin, the jump shot just isn’t there right now. I’ll have to emphasize the always-true cliche, that if he can one day develop a jump shot, it’s going to open up the rest of his game to some scary levels.
He’s a terrific facilitator who can make high difficulty passes. Bottom line, he’s comfortable with the ball in his hands.
Prkačin has a ways to go as a defender and is still too frail to keep up with NBA wings. He’s a young, long-term project player who by the time he’s just 22, has the potential to be one of the most impactful players from this 2021 NBA Draft.
