Kevin Love and Collin Sexton to the NY Knicks for a few young pups and picks

I recently wrote a piece on 3 bad contracts the Knicks could absorb and obtain a draft pick, and one of those contracts happened to be Kevin Love.

Now, I know what you’re thinking…

Who the hell wants to take on that albatross of a contract? I hear you but just take this into consideration.

Kevin Love is oft-injured, old, washed up, and on a massive contract for the next 2 seasons.

All reasons not to bring him to the Knicks.

BUT…

If the Knicks struck out on signing or trading for the players they wanted, there’s no reason why they couldn’t explore this trade as an option.

Under a coach like Thibs, I could smell a career resurgence from a mile away for K-Love.

If the Knicks moved on from Obi Toppin in a trade for a superstar on the wing, bringing in Love alongside Sexton could be a great move.

Getting Sexton for far below market value just for taking on Love would be yet another incredible acquisition for Leon Rose.

Love has championship experience, is a better rebounder, shooter, and passer than Obi, and could play the 5 more competently than Obi could.

Anywho, here’s the trade:

I’ve heard plenty of Cavs fans say they like Frank, so he and Knox would go to Cleveland and fit the timeline of their rebuild.

Going with them would be both 2nd round picks from this year.

The Detroit pick is the 32nd pick so still super valuable in a stacked draft class.

The Cavs could perhaps package both picks to move up into the late 1st round as well.
