Best players in the New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks series: #8 De’Andre Hunter

Hunter’s second season in The Association hasn’t been what most would hope for due to injuries. But when he’s stayed healthy, it’s easy to see how much game he has.

The swingman from Virginia has upped his averages across the board, even shooting more efficiently from the field by nearly 8%.

At the start of the season, Hunter showed signs of what he may turn into in years to come. He topped 20 points seven times in 17 games and had a career-high of 33 points against Milwaukee. Injuries hampered him for practically the remainder of the season, but he did return just in time for three of the Hawks’ last four games.

If Hunter can return to his early-season form, the Knicks will have their hands full with a defensive stopper and offensive threat. However, he hasn’t shown those signs just yet, scoring just 6, 4, and 14 points respectively since returning on May 10.
