Best players in the New York Knicks vs Atlanta Hawks series: #2 Trae Young

After averaging nearly 30 points per game last season, Young’s per game lowered to just 25.3 points. He’s also taking fewer shots per game and averaging a minuscule increase in assists.

However, stats really aren’t the best way to measure Young’s impact on the game. While it may be a down year by his standards, he’s still one of the few NBA players that can hit from any spot over halfcourt and take over games in the process. Young has eclipsed the 40-point mark on four separate occasions this season.

The New York Knicks are going to have to throw everything they can at Trae Young to get him off his game. Coach Tom Thibodeau even mentioned the possibility of playing Frank Ntilikina in spurts.

Whatever game plan New York might throw at him, Trae Young is must-watch TV. He’s easily the Hawks’ best player and will be fun to watch over the next few weeks.
