New York Knicks bench vs Atlanta Hawks bench

While this may not be a player against player matchup, this matchup between the two team’s benches could prove to be the most important matchup yet.

Both teams have built their teams in very similar ways, getting a star such as Randle or Young, and building around them with depth.

The New York Knicks and Atlanta Hawks both have three players on their bench scoring in double figures which can really be crucial in such an important series.

One of the Hawks’ vital bench players, Danilo Gallinari, is a former Knicks draft pick and is quite familiar with the team which could be beneficial to the Hawks.

Gallinari may have led the Hawks’ very efficient bench this season, but they also acquired a three-time Sixth Man of the Year award winner as the league’s best bench player in Lou Williams.

On the Knicks side, acquiring Derrick Rose in the early season trade with the Pistons has really helped the Knicks solidify themselves as one of the best bench units in the NBA.

Derrick Rose, who was once a star before his devastating injuries, has really done a tremendous job reviving his career.

When coming off the bench this season, Rose averaged 14.6 points per game to go with 4 assists per StatMuse, as he has been the second unit’s main source of scoring.

Immanuel Quickley, Knicks rookie and prolific three-point shooter, averaged 11.4 points per game on 38.9% from three, which will be a much-needed spark plug to the Knicks bench.

The Knicks and Hawks both have multiple players on their respective benches that can make an impact on the game, especially in the scoring column, and will prove to be very crucial to either of these team’s success in the postseason.
