Should Jared Butler be on the NY Knicks’ radar?

There may not be a better pure shooter at the shooting guard position in this entire class than Baylor star Jared Butler.

Butler, a massive piece to the Baylor Bears’ title run this past season, received the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player award for his efforts in the postseason.

When it mattered most and when everything was at stake, Butler rose to the occasion and played his best basketball of his career, which is a quality that will have NBA scouts in awe.

In such a big market such as New York, the Knicks need players who will not shy away from big moments, but will excel, which is the exact mold that Jared Butler fits.

While many college players struggle early on shooting the ball and improve as their careers progress, Butler remained consistent throughout his entire three years at Baylor shooting a career 38.4% from three on 558 attempts per Sports Reference.

In his junior season at Baylor, Butler averaged 16.7 points per game to go with 47.1% from the field and 41.6% from three per ESPN.

While he may have been known for being a phenomenal shooter, he was also no slouch on defense, making the Big 12 all-defensive team while also averaging 2 steals per game.

Jared Butler is a natural-born shooter and a prospect that can help the Knicks not only shooting the ball but defensively as well.
