NY Knicks: Jalen Green would take the team to another level

Jalen Green is a special talent that fills one of the Knicks’ biggest needs: shot creation. As good as the Knicks are, they struggle to create their shot outside of Julius Randle, making shots off the dribble that literally make my jaw drop.

Green is a top prospect in the draft, and it would cost the Knicks probably both of their first-round picks this year and another first-round pick, but it could be worth it.

Green is a top shooter and scorer in the draft, and adding a pure scorer, especially on the wing, is a top need for New York. Green averaged 18 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists on the G League’s Ignite team that also featured top prospect Jonathan Kuminga.

Green is a prospect I have major interest in. It’s very rare for any draft prospect to come into the NBA with the ability to score in the isolation that Green has.

He looks like a very similar player to Zach Lavine. The NY Knicks adding a wing scorer who can create their own shot could open up the court much more.

Green is a highly confident person, saying that he “knows for a fact” that he would be in the conversation for the first overall pick if he went to college. This is the type of confidence that the Knicks fans love, and the confidence that shows his energy would be perfect under the bright lights of Madison Square Garden.
