The NY Knicks find themselves in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff race, currently sitting at the 4th seed but just two games out of the dreaded Play-In Tournament.

Their surprising success has been driven by the defensive system of new head coach Tom Thibodeau and the immense improvements made by Julius Randle.

The first time All-Star has taken his game to a new level in a season that will likely earn him the NBA’s Most Improved Player award.

His averages of 24.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game are all the highest marks of his career.

It isn’t an exaggeration to say that he’s currently having one of the best individual seasons in the history of the New York Knicks.

However, Randle is still only 26 years old and is just starting to enter the prime years of his career.

While he deserves endless praise for his current season, there is still more potential that the forward has that can be unlocked.

The Knicks’ front office is expected to work on a contract extension (subscription needed for link) with the former 7th overall pick this offseason, giving him ample time to fine-tune his playing style so that Randle can become even more deadly than he already is.
