The New York Knicks will continue their fight for positioning in the NBA Playoffs as they prepare to face the #2 seed Phoenix Suns on Friday night. New York is in the midst of a difficult West Coast road trip that didn’t get off to the hottest start after an embarrassing loss to the Denver Nuggets earlier in the week.

After a red hot month of April that saw the team go 11-4, they’ve been able to remain seated as the 4th seed for over a week. They’re not exactly sitting comfortably.

The New York Knicks’ NBA Playoffs journey isn’t over yet

While the top three teams in the East (76ers, Nets, Bucks) are just about locked into their spots, the rest of the playoff picture isn’t so clear. The Knicks are 4th in the conference, the Atlanta Hawks are breathing down their necks at 5th, then there are the Boston Celtics and the Miami Heat who are tied for 6th – just two games behind New York.

Securing the 4th or 5th seed would be huge for the New York Knicks as it would mean avoiding one of the top-tier teams in the first round of the NBA Playoffs. There are just six games left in the regular season. Let’s examine the Knicks’ remaining schedule, their opponents, and whether or not they can secure a spot as the 4 or 5 seed.
