Marcus Zegarowski is a point guard option for the Knicks

When will the Knicks find their point guard of the future, Elfrid Payton doesn’t look like it. Derrick Rose is terrific and all but he is only getting older, and who knows if Immanuel Quickley can take on the role of an NBA starting point guard.

Maybe we can use one of our two second-round picks on a point guard, someone like Marcus Zegarowski from Creighton University.

For those of you who do not pay attention to college basketball, Zegarowski was part of the Creighton University team who reached the Sweet Sixteen and lost to powerhouse Gonzaga.

Zegarowski was named the Big East Preseason Player of the Year and he certainly did not disappoint in his performances.

Zegarowski led the Creighton Blue Jays averaging 15.8 points and 4.8 assists per game, just exactly what you want out of a point guard.

His game just from the “eye test” looks like it will translate quite nicely to the next level. Zegarowski is a deadly shooter with no boundaries on his range.

Zegarowski led the entire Big East in three-pointers per game, which if history repeats itself, players who can shoot the basketball efficiently will have a successful NBA career.

A floor general who can manage games while spacing out the floor? Yea, I’ll take one of those, please.
