The NY Knicks had themselves quite a month of April. New York had already exceeded expectations this season but decided to kick things into another gear this past month.

We also have to remember – April didn’t start out too hot for NYK. This team started the month 1-3, with losses to the Dallas Mavericks, Boston Celtics, and Brooklyn Nets and the only win coming against the Detroit Pistons. On April 8th, the Knicks were 8th in the Eastern Conference and 2 games below .500. Then, things turned around.

NY Knicks: April was a month of resiliency

You know the rest. The Knicks went on an absolute tear, winning 9 consecutive games. The streak was snapped by the #2 seeded Phoenix Suns (Mostly by Chris Paul), and NY then closed the month with a win over the Chicago Bulls. They ended April with an 11-4 record.

The Knicks picked up some much-needed momentum as they head out for a West Coast road trip, and before you know it, the playoffs. It’s been a magical month of basketball in New York City. This roster is gelling, players are stepping up in clutch moments, and it’s translated into winning basketball. With everyone playing so well, this may turn into a lovefest, but let’s zero in on the players and highlight some of the spectacular individual efforts.
