The NY Knicks are trending upwards and LeBron James has taken note. New York may have just had their win streak snapped by the Phoenix Suns but the conversations surrounding the team have been nothing but positive.

The Knicks have a newfound energy that’s propelled them to the 34-28 record. The team hasn’t felt this kind of success since 2013. Suddenly, the basketball world is getting a refresher on what it is like to have a relevant Knicks team.

NY Knicks: LeBron James shouts out team’s success

When people refer to the Knicks as a “Sleeping giant”, they’re referring to just how much the team can dominate the world of basketball when they’re even remotely relevant.

LeBron James tweeted this out in response to a tweet that referenced the fact that the NY Knicks have been seen a shift in their winning ever since they did a collaboration with Dipset and Kith just before the season started.

So let’s get this out of the way: This isn’t about LeBron James joining the Knicks… not happening.

What this is about: The fact that the NY Knicks as an organization are clicking on all cylinders. I typically right about player and team performance but this is about the off-the-court transformation. The reenergized appeal of the New York Knicks.

The NY Knicks have produced a winner on and off the court in 2021. They’ve created something that is built for sustained success. That is why the buzz has been so palpable – They’re creating a positive connection with players and fans who have been dying for this day to come.

It’s hard to build a culture when you’re losing games – The on-court product will obviously always come first. The Knicks have had a revolving door of journeyman players and mediocre coaches for years now and building a culture around that kind of environment is an impossible task.

With the Knicks, they’ve been missing not just the on-court product, they’ve lost all the magic that’s associated with playing basketball in New York. That’s started to change. Tom Thibodeau and his staff have produced a fearless brand of basketball.

The once out-of-touch NY Knicks social media team has been on fire all season long. The Knicks have been creating high-quality content and collaborating with relatable New York icons. This is the version of the organization that fans dream of. Fans have now become accustomed to seeing New York fandom commercials air on MSG like this one where they collaborated with New York Nico and other NY celebrities and die-hard fans.

The NY Knicks are hiring all of the right people in the right positions. They’re creating a strong brand built around New York basketball culture.

Getting guys like Cam’ron and Jim Jones gets fans excited about their team. Both the fans and players notice these things. LeBron James notices (Maybe 10 years too late).

The Knicks are back.
