This is what NY Knicks Playoff Basketball looks like

Clyde Frazier said it himself on the broadcast…the competitive atmosphere of the first half felt like a playoff game. Both teams were playing hard and going blow for blow.

There may be nothing more important than momentum when it comes to approaching the playoffs, especially for the non-title contender teams like the New York Knicks.

This streak is the icing on the cake of a very successful season. There has been no better display of how hard this team has worked to change the franchise’s fortunes than with these last 7 wins.

The only thing better than the Knicks playing themselves into the playoffs for the first time in 8 years is getting there and making noise.

The game against Charlotte on Tuesday night wasn’t just a game they needed to win for better playoff positioning for better headlines in the news.

That game is in a sense just the beginning. Even when the streak ends, the ramifications of the game and how they asserted authority in victory will be felt in the playoffs.

The Knicks all year long have known they can be capable of something special and they only continue to prove that to be correct over and over again.

The way the seeding is currently looking, it isn’t impossible for the Knicks to see the Hornets in the first round. They have tied the season series, and they will have their chance to win it on May 15 when the Hornets once again visit MSG for the second to last game of the year.

Even if they don’t meet in the playoffs, the Knicks can look back fondly on their matchup with this team as one of the best examples of how this team can compete on any given night.

To prove that they can win even when their stars aren’t shining or their defense isn’t brutal for 48 minutes.

The way they competed can be the solution to defeating any team on any given night. This streak has all but set the Knicks playoff berth in stone.

Its impact will definitely play a role in any success the Knicks see when that time comes.

No team should want to see the team Charlotte just had to deal with.
