Playoffs?! We’re talking about playoffs?! Yes… as strange as it sounds the Knicks have put themselves in a great position this season for a playoff berth, the first time since 2013. Now me being a Knicks fan means there is always that thought in the back of my mind of total derailment.

Let’s not get too comfortable, but it’s looking promising.

The New York Knicks currently sit at 29-27 with just 16 games remaining. More importantly, they are 7 games above the 11th seed. So at the very least, they should be earning themselves a play-in game.

If you didn’t know the NBA this season has altered the playoff format. 10 teams from the East and 10 teams from the West make the playoffs.

The 8th and 7th seed will play one game, the winner earning the official 7th seed. The 10th and 9th seed will also play one game, the winner of that plays the loser of the 8 vs 7 matchup to determine the official 8th seed. The 7 or 8 team will only need to win one game, while the 9 or 10 team needs to win two.

It may sound confusing, but I promise it will be fun!

Knicks: There is a lot to be excited about for

If Tom Thibodeau and the Knicks have taught me anything this season, it is there is hope and excitement creating a buzz in New York City. More winning is on the horizon, and this year is just the beginning.

Whether the Knicks are the 4th seed or the 10th seed, I know they will deliver headaches for any opposing teams, thus me believing they are built for a postseason run. I truly cannot wait to watch.

This has undoubtedly been a surprise season for our Knicks and being in a playoff series would top it all off.
