NY Knicks: The 3 most likely players NY will trade for in the offseason
NY Knicks Offseason Trade Target #2 – Lonzo Ball
Maybe it’s wishful thinking…maybe it’s something else…but I just have this gut feeling Lonzo Ball will be a New York Knick sometime soon.
It didn’t happen at the trade deadline, and believe me when I say I would much rather the Knicks sign him outright without having to trade for him…but I think The Pels will opt to sign-and-trade Lonzo to whoever is the highest bidder.
I discussed this in full detail on my podcast here.
It came as no surprise to anyone when Lonzo’s dad, LaVar Ball came out and said that his son was unhappy in New Orleans in a recent interview.
That whole family is all about the attention you get in bigger markets, like New York for example.
Unlike Malcolm Brogdon, Ball fits the timeline of the Knicks if that is what the front office decides to take into consideration when acquiring players, as he’s just 23 years old.
He was once viewed as just a big point guard who played good defense and was a great playmaker.
Now he’s added what seems to be an elite 3-point shot to his repertoire, shooting it at nearly 39% on the year.
I would have been happy to have Lonzo based on just his defense and playmaking ability alone, but now that he’s added a consistent way to score the basketball to his arsenal, that’s just the icing on the cake.
