NY Knicks: The 4 Best RJ Barrett Games of the Season
By Max LoSardo
NY Knicks: Barrett drops a career-high | 3/13
- 32 points
- 5 rebounds
- 3 assists
- 3 steals
- 12 – 21 FG
- 3-6 3P
Barrett was just too much for the Thunder, notching his first career 30 point game. His performance against the thunder is a perfect case study to his improvements this year. He continued to be a threat in the paint and was 5-7 from the line. He was 3-6 from three, one of which came from the left long wing as opposed to the corner where he is more comfortable. He notched 3 steals – all of which were followed by Barrett sprinting down the court while trying to lead the NY Knicks on the fast break. He was defended 3-1 during a first-quarter drive to the rim and scored fairly uncontested.
In the post game press conference, Barrett said Julius Randle made sure to get him up to thirty points:
"It’s great to have a teammate like that. He was getting everybody open all game long. It’s my second year playing with him – that was a really special moment."
But the humble RJ Barrett was playing on the same level as Randle, as he made a difficult pass in traffic to Immanuel Quickley for three.
Barrett and the Knicks have beaten up on the worst teams in the league this season which is absolutely essential to any playoff hopes. Barrett never takes a night off, and his 30 piece against the Thunder came well deserved.
There are 25 games left, and I fully expect to have to rewrite this list come season’s end.
