Alec Burks has been having a heck of a season for the NY Knicks but let’s keep it real here…he was initially acquired to be flipped originally.

Now, of course, situations are much different now than they were before the season started, as the Knicks were projected to be bottom-feeders originally but now, they could be competing for the 4th seed in the East, realistically speaking.

Of the many strengths this Knicks’ roster has, its second-unit has been one of the more significant aspects.

Alec Burks has been a huge reason why the Knicks’ second-unit is a strength.

I’ve watched countless games this year that were won entirely off the backs of Burks, Quickley, Rose, and Noel…even when the starters were sometimes outmatched.

The only reason I’m trading Alec Burks here is that the Knicks are in this weird limbo where they shouldn’t be competitive but they are…and the front office constructed this team where it would be able to offload a bunch of one-year contracts for draft capital or young players to develop.

I would hope they don’t move him if I’m being honest, but the trades I came up with are pretty interesting if ya ask me.

Should the NY Knicks move Alec Burks at the deadline today?

Now, to continue my “3 levels of trades” series where I make a small, medium, and blockbuster sized trade involving the aforementioned player in the headline.

The series has done well and a lot of people like them so I figured I’d bang one more out before the trade deadline today at 3 pm.

Alec Burks would be a solid contributor to any team, as he’s currently sporting averages of 12.6 points, 2.2 assists, 4.3 rebounds while shooting close to 41% from deep on about 5 attempts per game.

Due to him only being on the one-year contract he’s on, he could be viewed as expendable.

The Knicks could potentially look to get some kind of asset out of him and then re-sign him in the offseason if they liked having him on the team so much.

Let’s take a look at 3 levels of trades for Alec Burks.
