NY Knicks: 3 trades for players who fit perfectly with Julius Randle
NY Knicks best fit with Julius Randle #3 – Buddy Hield
For anyone who’s been reading my work since December, I am sorry.
I don’t think I’ve gone more than a week and a half without mentioning Buddy Hield in a trade to the Knicks.
Some folk see a player on the decline…I see a player who has been openly unhappy about his situation on his current team and wants to do anything he can to not be there anymore.
Recency bias is a funny thing.
Just 2 years ago, Buddy Hield was a 21 point per game scorer and shot 43% from 3.
There’s no doubt in anyone’s mind that the Knicks currently have a better overall roster and coaching staff than the Kings do…why would anyone think Buddy would come here and perform at the same level he is in Sacramento?
Yet again, I tinkered with a bunch of trade ideas and I came up with the same one that I made just recently.
What can I say? I like what I like (haha).
Here’s the trade:
The Kings essentially get a 1st in the form of Obi Toppin and a very high 2nd in exchange for Buddy Hield.
The Kings need to rebuild and find more young players that fit De’Aaron Fox’s timeline.
I kinda like the idea of Fox and Obi running pick-and-rolls together, I think I’d actually watch more Kings games than I do now which is basically none.
In return, the Knicks receive another player capable of facilitating a bit when necessary and a 3rd scoring option behind Julius and RJ.
I really like the idea of Julius Randle ISO plays and kicking it out to Buddy on the perimeter instead of Elfrid “Instant Brick” Payton or Reggie Bullock.
I think the addition of Buddy Hield could elevate the team’s overall 3-point efficiency by a ton and really help them down the stretch.
