NY Knicks Reggie Bullock Trade #3 – Malik Beasley

To piggyback off an article I wrote earlier this month, I think a trade for Malik Beasley could be a solid one for the Knicks.

Beasley is currently serving a suspension for pleading guilty to a felony count of threats of violence as a result of an incident in September.

He is eligible to return two days after the March 25th trading deadline, so if the Knicks were to work out a deal with Minnesota, they wouldn’t have to wait very long to see Beasley on the court.

Beasley started showing flashes of greatness during his final 2 seasons as a Denver Nugget, but due to the heavy guard and wing rotation they’ve had over the last few seasons, playing time was difficult to come by.

Since the trade at last season’s deadline, Beasley has done nothing but score the basketball at a very high level.

He’s averaging 20.6 points per game since the trade to Minnesota.

While not exactly known for his defense or playmaking ability, he is a very good rebounder for a guard that stands at about 6’4 as he’s averaged right around 5 boards per contest since the acquisition by the Timberwolves.

I think Malik Beasley is the exact kind of player the Knicks should go after at the deadline seeing how he would bring an offensive punch to a team that desperately needs a 3rd scorer next to RJ Barrett and Julius Randle.

Beasley is shooting 41% from deep on the year as well.

That’s someone you want to have on your team to stretch the floor when you have rim-runners like Mitchell Robinson as well as opening up driving lanes for RJ and Randle.
