NY Knicks Reggie Bullock Trade #2 – Terrence Ross

This is obviously a trade for the Knicks if they were looking to compete now.

The logic behind the trade is simple for both sides, really.

The Orlando Magic stink…they have a lot of really valuable pieces and are surely about to have a fire sale between now and the summer, so the Knicks should look to capitalize.

They dump Ross’s contract for an expiring Bullock deal along with two future 2nd rounders.

The Knicks acquire Terrence Ross who is set to make just $12.5 million and $11.5 million over the next two seasons, respectively.

Ross is quietly having one of the better seasons of his entire career, it’s just that no one cares because the Magic, as mentioned previously, stink.

He’s currently averaging 16 points, a little over 1 steal, 2.3 dimes, and 3.5 boards while shooting 36% from deep on about 6.5 attempts per game.

Ross has mostly come off the bench for the Magic so far this year, but I’m pretty sure he would take the place of Reggie Bullock on the wing in the starting lineup for New York.

The Knicks would likely lose a bit defensively in the deal, but the bouncy, former Washington Huskie is a powerhouse on offense which is just what New York needs.

Bullock has actually been the superior shooter of the two on the season but Ross is a far more capable penetrator and mid-range scorer.

The beauty of Terrence Ross’s contract is that it still allows New York to have cap flexibility over the 2 seasons he’d likely be on the team.

Considering the relationship Thibs and Steve Clifford have, maybe a little insider trading can commence and they can work on a deal together under the table before the front offices have a discussion themselves.
