NY Knicks: 2 steps to create a Beal, Randle, Drummond Big-3
Can LaMarcus Aldridge or Andre Drummond round out the NY Knicks’ Big-3?
I know what you’re thinking…easier said than done.
Even though I mentioned Andre Drummond’s name in the headline, really this applies to either Drummond or LaMarcus Aldridge.
Either one would fit in well at the starting center spot for the Knicks.
In the NBA, nothing is really as much of a guessing game as some may think because the Knicks should have a pretty solid idea before trading Mitchell Robinson away in the Beal package as to whether or not Drummond and Aldridge are being traded or will soon be bought out instead.
Frankly, the main reason why the Knicks are considered the frontrunners for an Andre Drummond trade is that they’re the only team with the cap space available to make a trade happen without giving up valuable assets.
I can foresee both Drummond and Aldridge being bought out and signing with the teams of their own choosing, so before the Knicks move on from Mitch, they’d have to at least have an idea that one of these 2 players would entertain coming to New York once they’re bought out.
Tampering happens all the time, ya just gotta be smart about it!
New York could also entertain two other potential buyout candidates in Trevor Ariza or Otto Porter Jr to help them with their wing depth.
The Knicks could potentially still trade for either Drummond or Aldridge even after the Beal trade goes through but I think they can get one of them on a veteran’s minimum and ride off into the playoffs with a super solid roster.
Potential Knicks Rotation after the trade and buyout:
Derrick Rose, Bradley Beal, Davis Bertans, Julius Randle, Andre Drummond/LaMarcus Aldridge
Bench:
Immanuel Quickley, Frank Ntilikina, Alec Burks, Ariza/Porter Jr, Nerlens Noel
