NY Knicks Competitor for Buddy Hield #2 – The Nuggets

The Nuggets have a decision to make, go all in or punt on the season and look to reload in the summer.

The Nuggets surprised many last season in the Bubble, they came back from two 3-1 deficits to make it to the Conference Finals. But the reality is that they are not a true contender.

Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray are a cut below the top duos in the West and they never found someone to replace Jerami Grant’s production.

For a franchise that hasn’t won a championship and whose last real shot at a ring was in the 2009-10 campaign when the team was led by Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups, it makes sense to go for it now.

Having Buddy Hield would give them a Big 3 to compete against the duos of the Jazz, Lakers, and Clippers. The best trade proposal from Denver would be as follows:

The Kings would get a starting two-guard in Gary Harris at a lower salary, $19.6M and fewer years, 1 versus 3 years.

They also get two players on rookie deals with lots of upside in R.J. Hampton and Bol Bol, both were at one time considered potential lottery picks.

They also get lots of draft capital: Two 1st round picks and two 2nd round picks.

This package is also long on potential, but at least brings back one proven player, even if it’s not in the frontcourt. Again, for Sacramento to consider this deal they would need to be thinking of another move down the line as Harris has not been a good outside shooter over the past 3 seasons, so he would not be a good fit alongside Fox.
