The Philadelphia 76ers trade offer
NY Knicks Competitor for Buddy Hield #1 – The 76ers
If the Sixers want to improve their chances for a championship, they will need to get another scorer.
After Joel Embiid, their 2nd and 3rd scoring options are Tobias Harris and Seth Curry, that simply isn’t enough.
Now, Embiid will miss at least two weeks with a bone bruise. The acquisition of Hield would improve their offense significantly and their chances of making it to the Finals. Below is what the Sixers could offer the Kings for Hield.
The Sixers’ best possible offer would include an intriguing combo rookie guard in Tyrese Maxey to replace Hield.
Another young player on a rookie-scale contract is a defensive ace, Matisse Thybulle, who can guard all three perimeter positions. He would be a great addition to one of the worst perimeter defenses in the NBA.
They would also include draft capital, their 2021 1st round pick which will be in the 20+ range, and a 2nd round pick in the coveted 2023 draft (possible double draft).
Danny Green would be added for salary matching purposes. He could possibly get flipped for other assets. This package is long on potential but does not return any established players, especially to improve the frontcourt.
The only way I see the Kings entertaining this offer is if they are high on Maxey and Thybulle and feel they could step in and contribute right away. If that is the case then they might look to swap Cory Joseph for some front-court help has Marvin Bagley has been a major disappointment.
