RJ Barrett’s efficiency is invaluable for the NY Knicks.

If the Knicks decided to deal RJ Barrett and replace the efficiency and stability that he has brought to the team, they are going to have an extremely difficult time.

Granted, the Knicks haven’t exactly been a good team in terms of success, but RJ has really been one of their more well-rounded players, offensively and defensively, throughout his two years with the team.

With the exception of Julius Randle for 2 years and Marcus Morris last season, RJ has had little to no help offensively and has been asked to take on a large role in scoring the basketball.

Especially this season, with the departure of Morris at last years’ deadline, RJ has been averaging 16.5 points per game on efficient shooting, particularly from three at 35% per Basketball-Reference.

Barrett has also taken on a massive role defensively, especially this season.

Under Tom Thibodeau, RJ has gained the trust of his profound coach and has been asked to guard the opposing team’s best wing player.

Being that the Knicks are one of the best defensive teams in the league, RJ being the anchor of the defense on the perimeter could be a very daunting task for a player as young as he is.

He also has shown his ability to use his speed in transition off of forced turnovers to get easy points.

RJ, coming to play for a city like New York, as highly touted as he was at such a young age, has had a significant role with the team and has been one of their most reliable player on both sides of the ball.
