The New York Knicks have been linked to numerous players as potential trade targets in the last few weeks. Some of these players’ potential to be traded to the Knicks is more realistic than others.

The Knicks, for the most part, appear to be buyers more than sellers at the upcoming trade deadline. If there is anyone on the current roster to be traded, it would seem to be one of their players who are at the bottom of the rotation, like 3rd year forward Kevin Knox. The team doesn’t seem to be pushing to trade one of their core players.

The Knicks are now a full 30 games into the season and it’s hard to say precisely where the team is going. At 14-16, you can’t be too disappointed, if we’re being fair. The Knicks have certainly exceeded the expectations they had coming into the season.

As a team that’s just a few games back from a top 4 spot in the conference while also being a few games away from the bottom 4, this is a pivotal point in the season. The Knicks have to make some big decisions that will impact both the rest of 2021 and their future beyond this season.

For the first time in a long time, this team has plenty of assets. They are in a good position to be buyers. We already saw them essentially trade just a 2nd round pick in exchange for Derrick Rose.

Some of the Knicks’ rumored trade targets are role players, some are established starters, and some are emerging All-Stars. Let’s take a look at some of these rumored targets and whether or not they would make sense for the Knicks.
