Kevin Knox is the Knicks’ most valuable trade asset on this list

If you’re a New York Knicks fan with a pulse, you were excited to see whether or not Kevin Knox improved from his abysmal sophomore campaign over the offseason. With Kenny Payne, Kevin’s former coach at Kentucky now with the Knicks, we figured we’d see the best version of Kevin Knox that we’ve ever seen. After a couple of huge games in the pre-season and then some shining moments at the very beginning of the regular season, Knox has found himself in Coach Thibs’ doghouse and has fallen entirely out of the Knicks’ rotation.

While Kevin Knox has most certainly improved in several facets of his game, like his corner 3-point shooting for instance, unfortunately, it hasn’t amounted to much as he slowly became a non-factor as the season has progressed. I’m not sure what happened between now and back when he entered the league because I remember a player who was much more aggressive when attacking the basket and while he was still very raw and unproven, there was a ton of promise there as Knox finished his rookie campaign amassing 12.8 points per game and 4.5 boards on decent shooting efficiency.

Knox may not be valuable on a Knicks team that’s looking to compete now but he can surely find minutes to further develop his game on a number of rebuilding teams, as he’s got the size and shooting ability to one day become a respectable NBA contributor.

I’d be sad to see yet another Knicks rookie gone before his rookie contract is up but if it were to net the Knicks a player that helps them get their record above .500 and into this year’s playoffs, I’m all for it. If he is moved, Once a Knick, Always a Knick!
