3) Randle is counted on to do the most but isn’t overdoing it

This might sound like opposite ends of the spectrum, but hear me out. Julius Randle leads the NBA with 697 minutes played. His teammate, R.J Barrett is right behind in second place with 692 minutes played.

Yet even though Randle is barely taken off the court, he doesn’t overdo it. With those types of minutes, Randle could probably shoot 20 times a game and no one would blink an eye. Yet he doesn’t do that, instead, looking to get teammates involved. And while his turnovers are a career-high, he seems to have had improvements, with only two games of four or more turnovers across his last 11 games, compared to six out of his first eight games coughing up the ball four-plus times.

The Knicks rank near the bottom in the NBA in FG% and 3-point% but think of how bad it could be if Randle wasn’t creating open shots from the forward position. He’s at least added another depth of offensive playmaking for the New York Knicks, which in turn forces opponents to at least take the Knicks’ offense a bit more seriously.

New York Knicks fans are encouraged to vote for Randle, which can be done on NBA.com or on Twitter. The 2021 NBA All-Star Game is set for February 14 in Indianapolis.
