The New York Knicks finished 3-1 over the course of their preseason action due to the impressive play of many members of the squad.

The New York Knicks finished 3-1 in the preseason after soundly defeating the Cavaliers 119-83, a contest that was somehow even more lopsided than the final score indicates. The team performed adequately with several young players getting off to hot starts.

However, it’s clear that the Knicks will be playing tougher competition once the games start to matter. New York played the Pistons and Cavaliers two times each, and both teams are expected to be among the worst in the league.

While there’s a good chance the Knicks will struggle on many nights this season, it should be fun watching a squad filled with blossoming talent compete under a legitimate head coach.

With an extended offseason, it was extremely important to see how each and every one of the returning players improved upon the weaknesses that they showed last year. For the most part, there were signs of development among numerous key rotation members.

It’s still unknown as to whom Tom Thibodeau will have in his starting lineup when the Knicks play the Indiana Pacers for the first game of the regular season. Eight different players started throughout the preseason action, while the rotation featured even more variety.

This past Friday, the Knicks completed their first week of basketball since last March. Here are 4 primary takeaways from their games.
