Everything you need to know as the New York Knicks prepare for a busy week with the draft and free agency.

We made it, New York Knicks fans. After a brutal stretch with our attention focused on more important things in life, basketball, or at least the workings of basketball are finally back.

The Knicks roster isn’t forever frozen in time with Bobby Portis making $15 million and a bunch of guys on non-guaranteed contracts that makes it impossible to know whether they will return next season. We will finally gain some clarity over the next few days, and hopefully, for fans of the blue and orange, some talent, too.

A new coach is in place in Tom Thibodeau. As every coach does, he wants to win, and win now. The question is whether team president Leon Rose is ready to deliver wins in the near-term by acquiring veteran players, or if he will be patient in building through the draft and saving his cap space for a better day.

The Knicks have been linked to Russell Westbrook in trade rumors. It appears they are at least considering a deal for the future Hall-of-Famer, but only if they can “simply” absorb his massive $132 million contract into cap space without needing to send any additional assets to Houston.

It’s going to be an interesting few days waiting on Woj updates.

To get you ready for it all, let’s review some key draft and salary cap information.
