1. Minnesota Timberwolves, Anthony Edwards, G, Georgia

The only franchise with worse lottery luck than the Knicks over their history has been the Minnesota Timberwolves. They were finally rewarded with the top pick in this year’s draft, jumping (from third) in the lottery for the first time in franchise history.

While there isn’t necessarily a generational talent atop the draft, Georgia’s Anthony Edwards is a fine pick for the T-Wolves, as someone who can pair alongside D’Angelo Russell and Karl-Anthony Towns to create one of the most dynamic young trios in the NBA.

2. Golden State Warriors: LaMelo Ball, G, Illawarra

The Golden State Warriors are looking to win another championship with their legendary core of Steph Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson. It’s very possible they use this pick to acquire a veteran player who can help them win now. I will put LaMelo Ball in this slot as a representative choice for a potential team to swing a deal to select the draft’s top point guard.

Could that team be the Knicks? Well, they don’t exactly have a veteran player who could help the Warriors next season. While New York reportedly has Ball ranked as the best point guard in the draft, they would likely need to find a third team to make a trade work.
