Catching you up on the latest rumors surrounding the New York Knicks.

As the country continues to be consumed by vote counts in the 2020 Presidential Election, the NBA is quietly working in the background to put the pieces in place to start a new season. New York Knicks basketball is finally close to returning.

Earlier this week, a tentative agreement was reached between the NBA and player’s association to start the season on December 22, creating a working offseason that will need to be completed at break-neck speed.

Of course, for teams like the Knicks, the offseason has been longer than any in league history. If New York opens the 2020-21 season on Christmas Day, they will have gone 289 days between games. However, they have been limited in what they can do in that time, as new team president Leon Rose gets comfortable from his new perch at Madison Square Garden that presumably has been temporarily re-located to his home.

With the NBA Draft finally approaching, the Knicks will suddenly be very busy over the next few weeks. It is anticipated that free agency will overlap with the draft date, setting in place a 7-10 day push before Thanksgiving that could see New York draft three new players, waive several others, and sign or trade for more.

This past week has been busy with rumors about what the Knicks might do in that time. Focusing on free agency, let’s catch you up on three players who have been tied to the blue and orange this week.
