Which New York Knicks players on team options or non-guaranteed deals would you vote to keep?
It’s Election Day in America – if you haven’t already voted, please minimize your browser and go vote now, we can then keep you company with this article while you wait in line – so I thought we could have some fun in thinking about the New York Knicks roster as a sort of election.
In pure terms, elections are about choices: candidates present their case for why they should receive the privilege to represent their constituents and whoever makes the better case and gains the most votes, wins—again, we are keeping things West Wing pure at DailyKnicks dot com.
As the New York Knicks enter the delayed offseason that finally includes the 2020 NBA Draft and free agency, new team president Leon Rose has several choices to make about players on the current roster who carry team-options or non-guaranteed deals.
Which of these players (if any) should Rose keep in New York? In answering that question, I am going to turn each player into a candidate and outline reasons the Knicks should vote to keep the player against reasons they should vote for change.
And since this is all for fun, instead of waiting for votes to be tallied and court cases to be settled and possible recounts to be had, we can skip right to the election results in telling you which players are the best candidates to return next season.
