2) Option for the Knicks with the 27th pick: Isaiah Joe, G, Arkansas

If you want shooting, Arkansas guard Isaiah Joe might be the best pick at 27th overall. While his three-point shooting percentage dipped to 34.2 percent during his sophomore campaign, he remains one of the top shooting prospects in the draft. He shot 41.4 percent from downtown during his freshman season, and his 89 percent free throw percentage this past year should remind scouts of his shooting touch.

Give Joe the ball on the perimeter and he will find ways to put it in the basket. He can shoot off the catch, in full transition, or off the dribble. The challenge with Joe is keeping him from taking poor quality shots, something the Knicks can coach him up to correct.

New York has spoken to Joe, as many teams have, in prep of the draft. Handicapping where Joe will be selected is difficult, as it is for many prospects in the upcoming class. Some mocks like the Arkansas product as a late first round selection, while others see him falling deep into the second round.

For the Knicks, they need to trust their new scouting department and consider what Joe adds to their roster as a volume three-point shooter on the cheap. He also brings high energy on defense and he can use his size (6-foot-5) to match-up with taller guards.
