Knicks need patience in preparing for important 2021 offseason

Knicks 2021 Offseason
Unlike this upcoming offseason, 2021 has some serious potential to shake up the entire league. Both the free-agent class and the draft have star-studded potential.
As what often happens, I don’t want to aimlessly tie big-names to the Knicks. If Leon Rose and the Knicks decide to go big-game fishing, the names in 2021 include Giannis Antetokounmpo, Donovan Mitchell, and Anthony Davis, with player option opt-outs potentially from Kawhi Leonard and Paul George.
Why would any of these names want to join the Knicks? They wouldn’t, right now. That is the main goal for Leon Rose and Thibodeau next season: make Madison Square Garden a desirable place to play.
Those may be the star names to know, but the 2021 NBA Draft is already being hailed as a franchise-altering group, with prospects like Cade Cunningham, BJ Boston, and Jalen Green soon to become household names.
The Knicks will have multiple picks in the 2021 NBA draft. It has the opportunity to catapult the franchise forward.
The plan for next season should be to establish the culture they want to build in Year 1 of Tom Thibodeau, and figure out who is going to be in the mix for years to come.
If the Knicks can add some talent this offseason and develop their young players, they could set themselves up to become major players in a big 2021 offseason.
For now, just let the new front office sink their teeth into the current state of the team, make adjustments, and set the stage for a big leap in 2021-22.
