Kristaps Porzingis must be getting tired of seeing Marcus Morris.

Former New York Knicks star Kristaps Porzingis was ejected from his first playoff game after a very questionable second technical foul in Dallas’ Game 1 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Monday.

With 9:10 remaining in the third quarter, the former lottery pick, who asked his way out of New York in 2019, got into a scuffle with none other than former Knick Marcus Morris.

Porzingis was defending his teammate Luka Doncic after Morris grabbed hold of him following the whistle on the play leading up to the altercation. A few shoves were thrown between Morris and Porzingis, but nothing that would make players from the 90s Knicks teams flinch.

Both players received double technicals, but since it was Porzingis’ second on the night, he was automatically ejected.

Marcus Morris representing all Knicks fans

For Knicks fans, it was another example of Marcus Morris playing the spoiler to their former player. Earlier in the regular season, before the coronavirus and playoff bubbles and when Morris was still in New York, the rugged forward was instrumental in leading the Knicks to two upset victories over Porzingis and the Mavericks.

His clutch three in KP’s return to the Garden might have been the biggest shot by a Knick since, I don’t know, Carmelo Anthony was leading the team to the playoffs in 2013?

While many Knicks fans loved to see Porzingis ejected, the reaction was pretty universal on social media that the Unicorn received a soft technical.

Even LeBron James tweeted out questioning the call.

As did Dirk:

The Mavericks kept the game close against the number-two-seeded Clippers, but ultimately lost 118-110. Porzingis scored 14 points on 3-9 shooting with 6 rebounds before he was sent to the locker room early.

Dallas received another amazing performance by Doncic, who put up 42 points, 9 assists, 7 rebounds, and 3 steals. However, he also coughed up the basketball 11 times.

The two teams meet for Game 2 on Wednesday night.
